Working at Height

COURSE OVERVIEW

The aim of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to work safely at height and use of fall arrest equipment.

It is a half day course, delivered by a certified trainer, through a combination of classroom based tutorials and practical training.

Course Objective

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Outline main Irish working at height legislation.
  • Describe working conditions where fall protection is required.
  • Fit and remove a full body harness.
  • Inspect personal fall arrest system before and after use.
  • Inspect Ladders before and after use.

Course Requirements

In order to partake in this course, participants must meet the following requirements:

  •  Have the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  •  Have a good level of English.

  • Introduction
  • Working at height legislation
  • Working at height hazard management
  • Personal Fall Arrest System
  • How to fit and remove full body harness
  • Inspect of ladders
  • Use of ladders

  • 1/2 Day

Course Assessment

  • Theory & Practical Assessment

Course Certification

  • On successful completion, participants will be awarded with a Certificate of Competence which is valid for 3 years.
